John’s love of the water had further evolved whist still a Radio Officer. During periods ashore in England he went on numerous journeys along the canals of England, including a memorable “three men in a skiff” trip around England with friends Roger Hardy and Brian Sinclair. John became an active member of the Inland Waterways Association, to which he belonged for over 40 years. David Stuart-King spoke at the Service and told us a little more about John’s involvement with the IWA.
